Saturday, January 28th is Data Privacy Day! To celebrate, we're featuring important information about the University's new PII Privacy Policy, an update on Crowdstrike deployment, and, as always, helpful tips and guidelines to keep you and the UD community secure.

Our personally identifiable information (PII) may be one of our most valuable assets. With this in mind, the University has adopted a new policy of industry-standard best practices to help safeguard your information throughout its lifecycle with the University.

Your privacy is important to you—but do you know your role in protecting your data? And do you know the policies in place to protect the University’s data?

Your social media use can affect your own security—and even the security of University data. Whether you’re an avid or occasional user, you should know social media best practices and how to spot common tactics of cybercriminals.

In 2022, UD Information Technologies (UDIT) deployed Crowdstrike Falcon as the University’s Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) solution across all UD-owned laptops and desktops. We would like to thank everyone for their support in ensuring their devices are protected from cybersecurity threats and in compliance with the Information Security Policy.

"In addition to a few fiction books received as gifts, I’ve been reading up on the new FTC Safeguards rule. As part of the University’s compliance with the Gramm Leach Bliley Act requirements, we have to perform annual risk assessment of financial components and the rules here are changing, with full requirements coming into force in June."
