We are currently working on special local events just for you! From tours of UDs Mineralogical Museum to a campus-wide planetary walk to coastal programs at our College of Marine Studies, the University of Delaware will offer a host of special events! In addition, DuPont is planning special tours at such local duPont family museums as Longwood Gardens and the Hagley Museum. Visit this page often for newly added events and register in advance. |
University Campus Tours Register in advance for 90-minute walking tours of one of the most beautiful college campuses on the East Coast. Student-led tours take place on weekdays at 10 a.m., 12 p.m., and 2 p.m. Saturday tours are held at 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. To register, please call (302) 831-8123 and let the representative know that you are with the 2002 National Science Olympiad. UD College of Agriculture & Natural Resources Tour - Come see some of the exciting research and teaching resources of the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources by visiting our 350-acre Newark complex. Current students in the College will serve as your personal tour guides, giving you an insider's peek at some of our neatest goings-on! Sites will include our ruminant nutrition lab, our greenhouse laboratory, wildlife specimens, a bioinformatics demo, an immunology laboratory, and a unique study-abroad photo display and info session. You'll meet some of our faculty, see our beautifully renovated Townsend Hall, and get to spend time with our enthusiastic and well-informed Ag Ambassadors. Tours are by reservation only. Downtown Newark's Main Street - Visit Main Street at the very center of UD's campus for daytime or nighttime shopping, food, and cozy spots to relax and enjoy a coffee or refreshment. Specials will be offered throughout the weekend for Olympiad participants. On Sunday, a Memorial Day parade with bands and entertainment rounds out the weekend celebration.
