Uploading files to Resources using WebDAV with Windows

WebDAV (Web-based Distributed Authoring and Versioning) is a set of extensions to the HTTP protocol that lets users collaboratively edit and manage files on a remote web server.

You can use WebDAV to upload and access files in your site's Resources, if you have the required permissions.

Using Windows 10, 8, 7 or Windows Vista

Although Windows 10, 8, 7 and Windows Vista allow you to map a network drive for WebDAV transfers, the process is not always reliable. Cyberduck is an open source, modern file transfer program that may work better and reduce the complexity and problems sometimes encountered with the built-in process. When downloading using the link below, make sure you select the file for the appropriate operating system on the left so you don't inadvertently install unwanted software:
Download Cyberduck and after installing it:

  1. Copy the URL provided in your Sakai site under Resources > Upload-Download Multiple Resources.

  2. Open the Cyberduck application.

    • Paste the URL in the Quick Connect field.
    • Press Return key.
    • Uncheck Anonymous Login.
    • Type your UDelNet ID and Password in the appropriate fields.
    • Click Login.

  3. You can highlight the files to be downloaded, right click on the highlighted area, click on "Download To", and choose a folder. Downloading should be start right away.

After you have made the connection you can use the Bookmark > New Bookmark menu to save the URL for the Sakai site; it will be available using the Quick Connect pull-down menu.
