Downloading Files Resources using WebDAV with Mac OS X

WebDAV (Web-based Distributed Authoring and Versioning) is a set of extensions to the HTTP protocol that lets users collaboratively edit and manage files on a remote web server.

You can use WebDAV to upload and access files in your site's Resources, if you have the required permissions.

Mac OS X

Although Mac OS X allows you to connect to a server for WebDAV transfers, the process is not always reliable. Cyberduck is an open source, modern file transfer program that may work better and reduce the complexity and problems sometimes encountered with the built-in process. Download Cyberduck and after installing it:

  1. Copy the URL provided in your Sakai site under Resources > Upload-Download Multiple Resources.

  2. Open the Cyberduck application.

  3. Paste the URL in the Quick Connect field and press the Return key.

After you have made the connection you can use the Bookmark menu to save the URL for the Sakai site; it will be available using the Quick Connect pull-down menu.
