My family history is of an African-American heritage. Both my mother and father's side of the family are from Northe America--The United States. My mother's parents were born in the south, South Carolina. Not too long after they had been married, they began to travel across the U.S, looking to improve their economic status despite the struggle and wars of racism. They've journeyed to and resided in Detroit, Florida, New York, and Philadelphia. Throughout their journey they birthed nine children together, one of which was my mother, Connie.
My father's parents, also from South Carolina, decided to progess North and settled in Philadelphia endeavoring to pursue a better life. My father, Emanual Sr. is also from a large family--1 of 15 children.
What I love most about my heritage is our STRENGTH. I think my culture was born with a built-in survival kit. I accredit my race, most of allfor giving honor to whom honor is due--GOD, He is the reason for our success. Both of my grandfathers are pastors and are yet passing down quality beliefs for future generations to grasp hold of. I truly appreciate my religious heritage, it is the foundation on which I stand--Jesus Christ.
