My father's side of the family is from Germany. I think that I am somewhat reserved, which is a characteristic commonly associated with Germans. Another thing that relates to my German heritage is my religion - Lutheran. One German tradition I always enjoyed was the opening of one Christmas present on Christmas Eve. I used to get so excited, and still do, because I am able to open a present that I choose from under the tree after coming home from church. My mother's side of the family is Hungarian. I think my liveliness, enjoyment of different foods and love for family celebrations are definitely related to the fact that I'm Hungarian. My mother's family is very amusing and carefree. They are often the first one's on the dance floor and the first one's to tell embarassing stories. I have a balance of the two - modest at times, but entertaining and expressive at other times.
