My heritage is perdominately from Austria and Whales. My grandfather on my mother's side is from Austria, and unfourtunately he died when I was six, so I never got the opportunity to learn more about where his family came from. What little information I have on my background has come from my mother. My mother has told me stories about my grandfather growing up on a farm with eight brothers and sisters. He was the eldest which meant he had to take most of the responsibilities on the farm to help support the family. Every morning he would rise with the sun to do the daily chores around the farm, and then have to go to school.
My grandmother on my mother's side came from England along with both my father's parents who came from Whales. Unfortunately, my mother and father divorced when I was two and I have been moving around the United States my whole life. I did not get the chance to ever speak to my father's parents, for they passed away when I was quit little. As for finding information on my heritage from my father, I received very little since we seldom talk or see each other. What I know is that my father's side is from Whales and everyone in the family has a name which came from one of our ancestors, along with the Crest which represents a symbol of the name. For instances I have the Lockwood crest since it is my middle name. I was named after my great great grandfather, Alexander Lockwood Reese.
I don't celebrate any customs from my heritage or eat any particular food from them, however I feel I am developing my own cultural here in America with the family I have been raised with. And the traditions in which my family has developed will be passed on to my children and my grand children ect. I never had the opportunity to grow up around all of my family, except for my ammediate family. So, the cultural I will best rember and celebrate will be the one I have made with them through out the years and fifteen moves.
