Living in a Residence Hall for Fall & Taking a Class during Winter Session

As a student living in a traditional residence hall for fall semester who has enrolled in a Winter Session course on the Newark campus, you will be automatically reassigned to your room for the appropriate Winter Session period.

FYI: If you complete a mid-year room change for Spring Semester, you'll live in your new room beginning with Winter Session (which also means that you'll need to move everything out of your room at the end of Fall semester).

You aren't required to live on campus for Winter Session, so if you don't plan to live on campus, you'll need to cancel your Winter Session application/assignment.

If you're taking an online course, you won't automatically be reassigned. If you want to live on campus, you'll need to complete a Winter 2019 housing application in the My Housing portal beginning November 1, 2018.

You won't be charged for Winter Session housing. However, you need to purchase a full Winter Session meal plan. If you don't select a plan, you'll be assigned and billed for the default plan.

For more information about choosing a meal plan, visit Dining Services.

For more information about Winter Session dining, visit the Winter Session site.

Living in a Residence Hall for Fall or Spring & Involved in a University-sponsored activity during Winter Session

As a student living in a traditional residence hall for fall or spring semester who is not enrolled in a Winter Session course, you can request to live on campus if you have a University-related reason (such as University employment, research, etc.). Submit a Winter 2019 application in the My Housing portal beginning November 1, 2018.

All other details listed in the section above apply.

Living in the Christiana Towers Apartments or Executive Apartments

As a student living in the Christiana Towers Apartments or Executive Apartments, you don't need to fill out the Winter Session housing application and will retain access to your residence hall.

You can choose to sign up for any of the available dining plans, but aren't required to.

Associate in Arts Students Taking a Class in Newark for Winter Session

As an Associate in Arts student taking a Newark campus class during Winter Session, you can request to live on campus for Winter Session only by completing the Winter 2019 application in the My Housing portal beginning November 1, 2018. We strongly suggest applying by December 4, 2018. We will notify you as soon as possible if we able to house you.

There is a $500 housing fee. You are also required to purchase a full Winter Session dining plan. If you don't select a plan, you'll be assigned and billed for the default plan.

For more information about choosing a meal plan, visit Dining Services.

For more information about Winter Session dining, visit the Winter Session site.

New & Incoming Spring Semester Students Living on Campus Who Also Need Winter Session Housing

As a new, incoming first year or transfer student who has signed up for Spring semester on-campus housing, you can request to move in for Winter Session if you register for Winter Session classes or are involved in a university sponsored activity during the session. You’ll need to notify us of your intention by completing a Winter 2019 housing application in the My Housing portal beginning November 1, 2018.

Request to Cancel Winter Session Application/Assignment

You can cancel your Winter Session application and/or assignment in the My Application Status Section of the My Housing portal.

If you've been charged for a dining plan, you can change or cancel your dining plan by visiting udel.edu/diningrequest.
