Fall 2019 Move-In Guide

Expect to receive information from us throughout the summer regarding your new home at UD!

We’re excited for you to move into the residence halls and plunge into campus life at the University of Delaware! Whether you have questions about Move-In Day, living in the residence halls or how to get involved with campus life, we hope to guide you through the process.


Partial housing assignments for new students are sent to students by June 21, 2019 (if they applied before by the priority deadline).

Full housing assignments will be emailed to all applicants around August 1.

New student move-in
Check-in times are staggered for new student move-in day - Saturday, August 24, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. - to help ease traffic congestion and help everything run smoothly. You will receive your check-in time in your August assignment email.

If you need to request an exception to your assigned check-in time, please complete this form. A valid university email address is required to complete this form.

Returning students will move in:
Sunday, August 25: 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Monday, August 26: 11 a.m. - 3 p.m.

University Courtyard Apartment students will move in:
Friday, August 23: 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Check-in times are staggered. You'll receive your check-in time in your August assignment email.

    One Easton Apartment students will move in on Thursday, August 22 and will be assigned move-in times by last name as follows:
  • Last names beginning A-H: 9 a.m.-11 a.m.
  • Last names beginning I-P: 11:30 a.m - 1:30 p.m.
  • Last names beginning Q-Z: 2 p.m - 4 p.m.

    Although a local phone service is not provided, students may request to install a land line service by submitting the following information to

    Please note: You will be charged a $300 fee for a single-line telephone device, installation and service for fall, winter and spring semesters/sessions.

    On-Campus Dining

    Dine on campus at one of UD’s all-you-care-to-eat residential dining halls or retail locations, including Dunkin’ Donuts, Starbucks, Einstein Bagels, Subway and Chick-Fil-A. View all on-campus dining locations here.

    Dining on campus isn’t one-size-fits-all.Meal plans were designed with you in mind. Find the perfect plan to fit your appetite!.

    The ONEcard
    The ONEcard office will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Move-In weekend. Normal hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
