The first step in the Housing Applicaition is to choose your housing track.

Assign Me A Room: you will provide information and preferences, but you want Residence Life & Housing to assign you a room after Open Room Selection. There is no option to request a roommate or to apply to an Other Housing Opportunity.

I Am A Pull-In Roommate: You will be a roommate to someone returning to room.

Return to Room: You must be eligible to return to room. If you currently live in any Other Housing Opportunity, including Executive Apartments, you will need to reapply and are not automatically eligible to return. See more information below.

Select A New Room: You want to receive a time slot to self-select a space during Room Selection. You may apply to an Other Housing Opportunity or form a Roommate Group.

If you have not yet agreed to the terms of the Student Housing Contract, you will do that now.

You will sign the contract by typing your full name as it appears in the upper right hand corner of the page.

Students under 18 must have a parent or guardian sign the contract before continuing.

The Student Housing Contract is legally binding 48 hours after the earlier of: (1) the completion of the room selection process, (2) receipt of assignment, or (3) placement on the guarantee wait list.

For applications received after the designated Open Enrollment period (February 2-28), the contract will become legally binding 48 hours after being placed on the guarantee wait list.

Hit Agree & Continue.

Students who applied during the Early Bird period in September/October will have already completed the Prepayment step.

IF you have sufficient financial aid, you will see only one option for prepayment: Defer Housing Prepayment.

IF you have at least $200 in your student account, you will choose between two options:

  • Bill Prepayment (that is, charge your student account) OR
  • Pay Prepayment with credit card or online check.

Otherwise, you will only see the option to Pay Prepayment with credit card or online check.

The prepayment is nonrefundable.

The demographic information on this page is what the University of Delaware has on file. If you wish to make any changes, you will need to contact the Registrar's office at (302) 831-2131.

Hit Save & Continue.

At the University of Delaware, there are various housing options to accommodate dietary, medical, and physical needs for students. We understand that there are circumstances where particular requests and accommodations need to be considered.

On the demographics page, select yes in the drop down if you intend to submit documentation of your need, consisting of an evaluation by an appropriate professional that relates the current impact of your condition to your housing request.

Documentation received late may result in an assignment that does not match your needs. For complete details on housing requests involving needs, please refer to the Housing Accommodations webpage, or contact Residence Life & Housing at (302) 831-HOME (4663).

If you select yes, you will be taken to a Requested Accommodations page, which includes links to forms. Please let us know which type of accommodation you will be requesting.

Please answer the profile questions to the best of your ability. This information is helfpul in roommate matching, roommate searching, and self-selecting into a room that already has an occupant(s).

The results of the questionnaire, your screen name, and Facebook link (if provided) will be visible to everyone completing a housing application in this process. Each time you apply for housing (such as for the next academic year), you will have the opportunity to update your profile responses.

Please visit our Roommate Resources page for further information about answering these questions and additional resources that can help you build your roommate relationships.

The Other Housing Options section of the application is where you may choose to apply to one of the following communities:

You will need to step through each page before continuing. If you are interested in one of the communities, there will be additional steps to complete, including essays for the Living Learning Experiences, agreements for some communities like Substance Free and All Female housing.

If you are applying for All Gender Housing, you will indicate your room preferences and may form a Roommate Group and request a roommate. Read more about All Gender Groups >>

Assign Me a Room Track Only

Let us know your location and room preference for where you would like to live for 2015-2016.

You are not guaranteed assignment in one of your preferences.

A Roommate Group must be composed of 2-4 members of a single gender. Students who would like to form an all-gender group must all apply for All Gender Housing under the Other Housing Options section of the application.

If everyone in the group cannot be assigned to one unit during Room Selection, the group can be broken up and new groups formed AT THAT TIME or group members can assign themselves if they choose not to reform a group. All group members retain the group time slot.

Students who wish to join a Living Learning Community or Other Housing Option as a Roommate Group must each complete the Other Housing Opportunities section of the application.

If you do not have a specific roommate in mind for next year, or want to find someone to fill out a group, you will be able to search using our new roommate matching tool.

You can do a simple search and get a list of potential roommates and how compatible they are based on answers to the profile questions.

Found someone you want to connect with? You can message others within the system and learn more about them.
