OMB Uniform Guidance Notice
The federal Office of Management and Budget (OMB) has made a major change to the underlying guidance for recipients of federal awards. All new awards and funding increments will be subject to the terms of 2CFR 200-Uniform Guidance, unless otherwise specified in the agreement. Typically, projects awarded prior to December 26, 2014 will be subject to the "old" OMB Circulars. Researchers and administrators are encouraged to carefully read the terms of all awards and modifications to ensure applicable guidance is adhered.
In addition, the Research Office is pleased to announce that new Uniform Guidance messages are now available on UDataGlance. For federal and federal flow-through awards, the message appears below the Total FTE Amount information in the 2nd column toward the top of the page.
On the Financial Summary tab, the three possible guidance options are:
- Subject to OMB Circulars for Higher Education guidance;
- Subject to 2CFR 200 - Uniform Guidance;
- Project subject to blended guidance (UG & A-21), effective date xx/xx/xxxx.
On the Award Data tab, one of two messages will appear:
- Award subject to blended guidance (UG & A-21), effective date xx/xx/xxxx;
- See individual purpose code(s) for applicable guidance.
