Why did the diploma style change?

The redesign will feature an updated layout, and the writing will reflect UD’s colonial heritage that is more in line with the University of Delaware’s rich history.  (UDaily announcement)

When will the new diploma format become effective?

The University of Delaware’s diploma style is changing effective for degrees being conferred in the 2014-2015 academic year, beginning with the Fall 2014 degree conferral period which are printed beginning January 2015.

Yes, diplomas will continue to measure 16 inches by 12 inches.

Will the new diploma format reflect my major/ minor/ concentration/ specialization?

Consistent with the previous diploma policy set forth by the Board of Trustees, diplomas will continue to be printed with the degree type (i.e. Bachelor of Arts, Master of Science, etc.). Your Official Academic Transcript will provide the details concerning your major(s) and minor(s).
