Research Interests
I am a Developmental Psychologist and currently a member of the Clinical
Science Program. My past research programs examined children's memory development
and their story and discourse comprehension processes. My present focus
concerns developmental risk, and I co-direct a longitudinal project on
the emotional development of children from low-income families. I am an
aggressive teacher and the set of courses I have taught recently include
undergraduate seminars about family discord, adolescence, and developmental
risk. I also teach a course on the History of Psychology, from a social
history perspective. I am currently the Coordinator of the Graduate Program
in Psychology.
