Statistics

Degree-seeking international students are represented in each of UD's seven colleges, with 794 total undergraduate students and 1,240 graduate students.

UD international students and scholars hail from 91 countries. UD'sEnglish Language Institute enrolls 624 ELI students.
3,888 international community members call UD home.

Of UD's 255 scholars, 7 are professors, 199 are research scholars, and 49 are short-term scholars. Image of UD international student holding ice cream at an Ice Cream Social. The University of Delaware hosts 78% of the state's international student population.

UD's top-sending countries are China, Saudi Arabia, India, South Korea and Iran.

In 2017, the iHub was opened as a study and lounge space for all UD students. Outside of the classroom, OISS organized 150 plus programs for UD's international community. In 2017, OISS launched the International Spouses & Families organization which meets weekly to provide social support and organize programs for the 402 international spouses and children in Newark.

About our Data

The Office for International Students and Scholars (OISS) compiles and publishes an annual Statistical Report on the number of international students and visiting scholars enrolled at and hosted by the University of Delaware.
