Dear UD community,

Diversity is one of the University of Delaware’s most essential strengths, and we are committed to ensuring that everyone — regardless of their differences — can fully participate in our vibrant community. To truly live out our institutional value of inclusive excellence, we must make the UD experience accessible for every student seeking a world-class education and for all faculty and staff who are pursuing a fulfilling career, as well as for our alumni, friends and neighbors who engage with the University every day.

To support this goal, I am proud to announce UD Accessibility, a campus-wide initiative designed to make sure everyone can access our extensive digital and online resources, such as course content, websites, programs and media. Technology is deeply engrained in nearly everything we do — in our classrooms and labs, in our offices and throughout our community — so it is critical that these rich assets are accessible to all.

The UD Accessibility initiative involves every one of us. I encourage you to visit the UD Accessibility website to learn how you can help this initiative succeed. There you will find:

The UD Accessibility initiative will help us build a culture of accessibility that is vital to achieving our goals of inclusive excellence. If you have any questions about this new initiative, please reach out to accessibility@udel.edu.

With your collaboration, we can ensure that all students, faculty, staff and other community members are welcomed at our institution and equipped to succeed.

Sincerely,

Signature of President Dennis Assanis
