Dear UD Community:

As previously communicated, plans have been underway to enhance our University of Delaware Retirement Program, which includes the 403(b) and 457(b) plans, with a refined investment lineup, enhanced services and expanded advice and education as we transition to TIAA as our single administrative service provider.

As we continue to progress in the transition, we want to keep you informed of the implementation timeline and upcoming changes.

The effective date of the TIAA change has been delayed until January 1, 2018, to ensure a smooth and efficient transition to the new system.

However, the launch of the refined investment lineup will be the first component of the transition – the new menu will be live September 1, 2017.

Enhanced services such as expanded advice and education will be available as the fall semester gets underway. Additional details will be shared in future communications. We believe all these changes will help make it easier for you to plan and save for your future.

You don’t have to wait to focus on your retirement. Here are some steps you can take now:

  • Attend the Benefits & Wellness Fair on May 18, 2017 and join an educational session in Trabant University Center Theatre. Morning sessions are scheduled for 9:30 a.m. & 10:30 a.m., with afternoon sessions at 12:30 p.m. & 1:30 p.m.
  • Review the refined investment lineup to learn about the new options in which you may invest beginning September 1, 2017.
  • Schedule a one-on-one session with TIAA through the University’s benefits page.
  • View a financial education webinar Online Financial Resources. Enter your name, email and other required information and click “Register.” Once you have registered you can click “Login,” enter your email and “tiaa” as your password. Please note: you may need to install Adobe Flash Player.

The University of Delaware remains committed to offering you a leading retirement plan with resources and services to help you create the future you want.
