Uninstall Existing Version of PeopleSoft

1. Confirm that the PeopleSoft program is installed on your computer by following these steps:
• Click Start.
• Select Programs.
• Scroll through the list to check if PeopleSoft is listed.

Important Note
If PeopleSoft is installed on your computer, you must continue with all of the remaining steps in this section. However, if PeopleSoft is not installed on your computer, go directly to step 3.

2. If the PeopleSoft program is installed, run the PeopleSoft uninstaller by following these steps:
• Click Start.
• Select Programs.
• Select PeopleSoft.
• Select Uninstall Workstation. The Uninstall Workstation dialog box will appear and will look similar to the following:

  

• Click Yes. The Uninstall Workstation dialog box will change slightly and look similar to the following:

  

• Click OK.
3. To finish uninstalling the PeopleSoft program from your computer, you will need to download, save, and then run a file. (Detailed instructions begin in step 4 below.) Click on the appropriate link for your operating system:

   • Windows 95/98
   • Windows NT

4. The Save As dialog box will appear and will look similar to the following:

   

5. Click the button near the top of the dialog box to change to the desktop (if it is not already selected).
6. Click Save.
7. Click the Minimize button in the Netscape Communicator window to minimize the window.
8. You should see an icon on the desktop of your computer that looks similar to the following:

   

9. Double-click the icon to run the program.

   A dialog box will appear and look similar to the following:

   

   Read the information in the dialog box and then press any key to continue.

   A second dialog box will appear that looks similar to the following:

   

10. Click the X in the upper-right corner to close the dialog box.

Install Oracle

1. Click Netscape Communicator in the taskbar at the bottom of your screen to maximize the window.
2. Click the following link to download Oracle 8i.
3. Save the file to the desktop. Follow the instructions in step 4 of the Uninstall PeopleSoft section if necessary.
4. Click the Minimize button in the Netscape Communicator window to minimize the window.
5. You should see an icon on the desktop of your computer that looks like the following:

   

6. Double-click the icon to run the program.
7. A dialog box that looks similar to the following will appear:

   

8. Click Netscape Communicator in the taskbar at the bottom of your screen to maximize the window.
9. Click the following link to download a file to finalize installation.
10. Save the file to the desktop. Follow the instructions in step 4 of the Uninstall PeopleSoft section if necessary.
11. Click the Minimize button in the Netscape Communicator window to minimize the window.
12. You should see an icon on the desktop of your computer that looks similar to the following:

    

13. Double-click the icon to run the program.
14. You will see a dialog box that looks similar to the following:

    

15. Read the information and then press any key to continue.
16. Click the X in the upper-right corner to close the dialog box.

Install PeopleSoft Version 7.6.1

1. Click Netscape Communicator in the taskbar at the bottom of your screen to maximize the window.
2. Click the following link to install PeopleSoft version 7.6.1.
3. Click the Minimize button in the Netscape Communicator window to minimize the window.
4. You should see an icon on the desktop of your computer that looks similar to the following:

   

5. Double-click the icon to run the program. The program should automatically install itself.

When the installation is complete, you will see a dialog box that looks similar to the following:



6. Click OK.

Important Note
You must reboot your computer before you can test your new version of the PeopleSoft program to confirm that it was installed successfully.
