What idoes it fit?

This area of the MOSAIC website will offer visitors addional content concerning substance abuse, treatment and best practices. We will make every effort to offer a range of interesting and useful information presented in a clear and accessible manner.

MOSAIC FACTS

• Conducted by the Coordinator of Outreach with a group of students using the Alcohol Use Disorders Identification Test (AUDIT) .

• Conducted in Freshman Seminars, residence hall programs, registered student organization meetings (including Greek organizational meetings), and intercollegiate and club sports teams.

• Further assessment is conducted by substance abuse counselors in individual sessions using the Alcohol Use Disorders Identification Test (AUDIT) and the Substance Abuse Subtle Screening Inventory (SASSI).

• Mandatory for students who violate the drug use policy, violate the alcohol use policy for a second time, require medical attention as a result of alcohol use, or are deemed by a hearing officer or the Appellate Board as needing an assessment for uncommon behavior.

On-going support

On-going support can also be provided for students through individual counseling sessions and/or participation in an intervention group,“Taking Control of Substance Use:  The Steps to Success.”  It involves group discussions about real-world topics.
