MISY261, Business Information Systems, is concerned with how businesses use information and information systems, including data analytics, to make better decisions and be competitive in global enterprise. Like MISY160, it is a "hands-on" course.

Topics covered include database design and implementation using Microsoft Access 2019, advanced spreadsheets, using Excel 2019, business processes, flowcharts, and data analytics using Tableau. Students will learn about why a company needs an integrated information system like ERP and have some "hands-on" work with the ERP software, SAP, in the form of a simulation game.
