WHAT IS SUMMER NSO/PHASE I AND PARENT ORIENTATION?

During the second week of June, all new students will receive their one-day Summer NSO/Phase I assigned date. Your date will be a weekday between Tuesday, June 24, 1997 and Wednesday, July 23, 1997. While we cannot take advance reservations for Summer NSO/Phase I dates, we understand that students will have unavoidable conflicts and pre-planned family vacations. New students are asked to make every effort to attend on their assigned date, but if they must reschedule, we will make every effort to accommodate changes. Complete instructions on how to make changes will be included in the June mailing from the New Student Orientation Office. This packet will also include detailed information about optional overnight lodging, lunch, parking, etc.

NSO/Phase I is a full one-day program on the University of Delaware campus for all new students and parents. Summer NSO prepares new students academically for their first semester at Delaware. While the students are busy with their Phase I activities, parents are oriented to the University. Phase I is a full one-day program.

Your Summer NSO day begins with an 8:00 A.M. check-in at the new Trabant University Center. At check-in students receive their personalized NSO Phase I schedule and a packet full of useful information. Most students and parents will complete the day's activities no later than 5 P.M. The Welcome, beginning at 8:15 A.M., will be held in the Trabant University Center and will include parents. This session will highlight the day's activities. At the conclusion of this session students will proceed to their own appointments and parents will begin their orientation program.
