WebCT 3.7.1 Campus Edition addresses installation issues as well as other issues in WebCT 3.7.0. WebCT 3.7.1 can be installed as a new instance or as an upgrade of WebCT.

Note: WebCT 3.7.1 Campus Edition does not support the following server operating systems: Red Hat Linux 5 or below; Linux systems other than Red Hat Linux; SGI IRIX; FreeBSD; Sun Solaris x86; Digital UNIX; IBM AIX; HP-UX; Tru64.

Description
Administrator
  • Spaces are now permitted in Category names.
Assignments
  • After upgrading from a previous WebCT version, text from a submission comment now displays properly.
Authentication
  • Duplicate login requests no longer occur.
Automatic Signon
  • Netscape 4.7 users can now use automatic signon to access Campus Pipeline and WebCT.
Content Module
  • Upgrading from a previous WebCT version no longer breaks anchor tags in a content page.
  • Upgrading from a previous WebCT version no longer changes Table of Contents items to Untitled.
Discussions
  • Management of threads has been improved.
General
  • Selective release functions smoothly when only a start time is specified.
Global Calendar
  • Performance has been enhanced when displaying the Global Calendar for a large number of courses.
IMS API
  • Memory leaks have been fixed and performance has been improved.
  • License validity will be checked once for each event so that in the case of a license error, lengthy events will not be interrupted.
Installation
  • Memory leak in the Update Student View process has been fixed.
Kerberos
  • Kerberos works as intended when a large number of virtual instances are installed. This issue affected Solaris platforms only.
License Server
  • Security vulnerability in the license server has been addressed.
Mail
  • Management of threads has been improved.
Manage Students
  • File updates now affect only the specified column data.
  • If the administrator setting disallows designers from adding students, attempts to do so now generate the correct error message.
  • Uploaded records now display correctly on the confirmation page.
  • Uploaded records containing a blank password field now update correctly.
myWebCT
  • Performance has been enhanced for listing a large number of courses in myWebCT.
Quiz
  • Changes to a quiz question which may affect student grades can now be saved as a new question.
Standard API
  • Deleting a user record from a course's student database no longer leaves a blank record.
