Change of Major Process

Exercise Science

Students must have taken CHEM103, CHEM104, BISC207, BISC208 with a minimum grades of C- in each, have completed 28 credit hours at the University of Delaware, and have approximately a 3.0 GPA when seeking admittance to Exercise Science. Meeting the minimum criteria does not guarantee entry into the major; approval for change of major is contingent on available space. Students must submit the "Change of Major" form in UDSIS from January 1-15 (for spring acceptance) or June 1-15 (for fall acceptance); students will be notified by February 1 or July 1 respectively.

Athletic Training

Students interested in the major should first apply for admission to the Athletic Training Interest program, which may be done at any time (assuming a minimum 2.0 GPA) by submitting the "Change of Major" form in UDSIS. An interview may be requested at the time of application to the Interest area. ATI students must complete pre-requisite courses for AT including KAAP155, KAAP220, KAAP210 and KAAP240. Directed observation hours, clinical evaluations and competencies, essay, and recommendations are required. Fulfilling the minimum requirements does not guarantee admittance to AT. This is a four year program and cannot be completed in any less time.
