Half-Marathon, 10K & 5K
Carpenter Rec. Area,
White Clay Creek State Park
Here are more or less final results--major sloppiness in reg. and timing procedures, complicated by rain, meant I had to reconstruct a lot of results by hand. Thanks for your patience. A few half-marathoners and some 5K finishers are missing times; if you know your finish time and want it posted, please email me.
Medals: We don't make a big deal over awards, but if you won an award, missed the presentation and still want it, send a self-addressed envelope with 60 cents postage on it to John Mackenzie, 711 Fiske Lane, Newark, DE 19711, and I will mail it to you.
I apologize for several logistical problems that occurred during the even: survey flags removed from the course, including flags indicating critical turns; missing both flags and marshal at the top of the 10K so a lot of people went off course at that turn. The water stations were to switch to self-serve, not "find your own water," at noon, some marathoners struggled wtih dehydration. We went 7 years with no serious injuries, but this year we had three significant injuries and multiple people breaking down with hypothermia this year. I appreciate the fact that you came out to support our cause. This year's event was dedicated to the memory of my wife, she would have laughed about the mud. I promise a much tighter, safer, funner Triple Crown next year. A big thanks to the dozens of great volunteers who gave their time and effort to this cause. Thank you and God bless you all.
