Eduroam

Eduroam

Eduroam (education roaming) is the preferred everyday WiFi network for students, faculty, and staff. The network's level of encryption allows for protected access to confidential, critical information (i.e., PII). UDel Secure may be used as an alternative network if necessary.

About eduroam

Eduroam (education roaming) is a secure, worldwide network developed for the international research and education community. Eduroam provides per-user, per-session encrypted network access at any eduroam-enabled campus for users coming from any other eduroam-enabled campus. There are over 5,500 eduroam institutions around the world.

Because the University of Delaware is a member of the eduroam network:
  • UD students, faculty, and staff can easily connect to the Wi-Fi network at another eduroam institution without the need to gain guest credentials on arrival.

  • Students, faculty, and staff visiting UD's campus from a different eduroam institution can easily connect to our Wi-Fi network without the need to gain guest credentials on arrival.
Eduroam is useful for anyone who needs to connect to the Wi-Fi network at another school. Students studying abroad, faculty members attending a conference at a different university, or guests visiting UD will all enjoy the ease in which they can connect to the internet while away from their home institution. It is recommended that you connect your devices to eduroam network at your home institution before traveling to a different school's campus. Once your devices have successfully connected, just turn them on at any eduroam institution and you'll immediately have Wi-Fi access.
