Devices that are not using the latest version of Java, may lose University network privileges.
If future scans reveal your device has not been updated with the latest version of Java, your network connection will be disabled and you will be required to bring the computer to IT to have the updates applied before network access is restored.
By not keeping your software up-to-date, you are endangering your computer and every computer on the University of Delaware network.
Java software allows you to view media, use applications, and browse interactive content on a website. Java updates include important security fixes that allow applications to run securely on your Internet-enabled device. Install the latest version of Java.
Not using the most up-to-date version of any software leaves your system vulnerable to attack. Review the University's Best Practices on regular software updates to learn more. All those connecting to the University netowrk are responsible for ensuring that their systems are secure, do not get compromised, and do not adversely affect network performance for others using the network.
