Ice Skating Summer Camp
June 19-23 & July 31-Aug 4, 2017
All participants in the Ice Skating Summer Camp MUST HAVE TURNED 6 by January 1, 2017. Camp is open to all skating ability.
Camp is under the Direction of Isabella Cannuscio & Christie Moxley.
Christie has been a part of the University of Delaware figure skating program for over 28 years. She began in skating in the learn to skate program and went on to compete at the Sectional level in Freestyle, National level in pairs and International level in ice dancing. Christie has been coaching for over 17 years. She enjoys coaching all disciplines and levels and has worked with skaters at the National, International and Junior World level. Christie has served on the UDFSC board as well as numerous USFS committees. In addition, she holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Delaware in Health and Exercise Sciences.
Isabella is the University of Delaware Learn to Skate Coordinator. She is a USFSA Gold Medalist in Ice Dance and Moves in the Field, and a member of the PSA. She was a National Competitor from 2003-2014 and an International Competitor from 2007-2011. This camp will focus on introducing the basic skills to those that have never skated or those who have taken lessons before, as well as working on skills/jump/spins for more experienced skaters. In addition to the on ice classes; the campers will work on team building activities, art and crafts and time at the UD Outdoor Pool. The classes are designed for ALL skating abiliites as classes are divided by age and skill level.
The camp is held in the Fred Rust Ice Arena from June 19-23 and July 31-August 4, 2017. The camp hires the talents of the local UD skating community including professional coaches form the University of Delaware High Performance Figure Skating Center.
What you will need to bring:
Skates (can also be rented if needed at no additional cost)
Skating attire (athletic apparel, pants/warm layers, tights and skating specific attire are all acceptable)
Gloves, mittens, warm layers of clothes
Gym clothes, including, shorts, t-shirt and sneakers.
Swim suit, towel, sun screen
Daily lunch (except on Friday), along with morning and afternoon snack. Water bottle is also recommended.
*Pizza and subs will be provided on Friday, June 23 & August 4 for lunch (own drinks and snacks need to be provided).
Dates: June 19-23, 2017 & July 31- Aug. 4, 2017
Cost: $425 per skater, $375 sibling discount if you register for BOTH camps prior to June 5, 2017.
$230 per skater, $200 sibling discount if you register for either the June or August camp prior to June 5, 2017.
$260 per camper per camp, no additional discounts after June 5, 2017. This applies to BOTH the June and August camp.
AFTER CARE IS AVAILABLE FROM 4PM-5PM FOR $25 FOR EACH WEEK.
Deadline for June camp is June 12, 2017.
Deadline for August camp is July 24, 2017.
