Ice Skating Summer Camp

June 20-24 & August 1-5, 2016

All participants in the Ice Skating Summer Camp must have completed first grade. Camp is open to all skating ability.

Camp is under the Direction of Isabella Cannuscio & Christie Moxley. Christie has been a part of the University of Delaware figure skating program for over 28 years. She began in skating in the learn to skate program and went on to compete at the Sectional level in Freestyle, National level in pairs and International level in ice dancing.

Christie has been coaching for over 17 years. She enjoys coaching all disciplines and levels and has worked with skaters at the National, International and Junior World level.

Christie has served on the UDFSC board as well as numerous USFS committees. In addition, she holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Delaware in Health and Exercise Sciences.

Isabella is the University of Delaware Learn to Skate Coordinator. She is a USFSA Gold Medalist in Ice Dance and Moves in the Field, and a member of the PSA. She was a National Competitor from 2003-2014 and an International Competitor from 2007-2011. "Even though I am retired from the sport, I am still involved in U.S. Figure Skating through committees, as well as a member of the UDFSC Board:.

This camp will focus on every facet of Figure Skating as well as introducing the basic skills to those who have never skated or taken lessons before.  All skill levels welcome!

The camp will ensure everyones development over the five days of training as classes will be designed to meet everyones skating ability. Held in the Fred Rust Arena from June 20-24 and August 1-5, 2016, the camp will utilize the talents of the local UD skating community, including professional coaches from the UD High Performance Figure Skating Center.

Areas to be covered:
On-Ice classes will focus on strengthening skills to gain better control, balance, power, and accuracy of all elements. Some levels will also focus on the proper technique of jumping and spinning.
Off-Ice classes will focus on areas such as: strength and conditioning, plyometric training, off ice dance, stretching as well as interpretation to music.

What you will need to bring:
Skates (can also be rented if needed at no additional cost)
Skating attire (athletic apparel, pants/warm layers, tights and skating specific apperel are all acceptable)
Ballet slippers for ballet or socks for off-ice dance
Gloves, mittens, warm layers of clothes
Gym clothes, including, shorts, t-shirt and sneakers.
Swim suit, towel, sun screen
Daily lunch (except on Friday), along with morning and afternoon snack. Water bottle is also recommended.
*Pizza and subs will be provided on Friday, June 24 & August 5 for lunch (own drinks need to be provided).

Ice Skating Camp-Fred Rust Ice Arena

Dates: June 20-24, 2016 & August 1-5, 2016


Cost: $425 per skater, $375 sibling discount if you register for BOTH camps prior to June 3, 2016.


$225 per skater, $200 sibling discount if you register for either the June or August camp prior to June 3, 2016.


$250 per camper per camp, no additional discounts after June 3, 2016. This applies to BOTH the June and August camp.


Deadline for June camp is June 10, 2016.

Deadline for August camp is July 22, 2016.

Camp time is 8am-4pm. After care is available from 4pm-5pm. Detailed schedule will be provided to skater the first day of camp. Below is the basic schedule of days activities
