Title of Major Research/Research Interest:
My research interests include: multicultural training, research, supervision and counseling; group psychotherapy and counseling; African American career development;
bereavement, loss and grief issues; environmental violence and African American families; HIV/AIDS education and counseling and minority underutilization of counseling
services. My dissertation research will examine the relationship between an experimental group experience and perceived levels of multicultural competency among
graduatuate counseling students. The project seeks to move beyond cognitively training all counselors to be multicultural trough an experimental group modality.
Career Goal:
To conduct research related to group and multicultural counseling as a faculty member at a research institution where my clinical experience and educational training will
augment my organizacional skills and teaching interests. I would additionally like to be affiliated with a University Counseling Center to maintain my interest in counseling
practice.
