  1. Professsor Rebecca Sheppard presented the proposal to grant an extension for the permanent status review of the MA in Historic Preservation. The reason for the extension is that the faculty need additional time to prepare the report for the support of the permanent status since the Director of the program became suddenly ill and as a result, not enough time was available by others to complete the report by the announced deadline for submission.   Included with the proposal for the extension of time was a memo from the Dean of the College and the Interim Director of the School of Public Policy to not accept new students into the program for the 15-16 academic admission cycle.  The Committee table their vote on the approval of the extension and requested that the Director of the School of Public Policy join the Committee at its next meeting to further explain the decision to close applications for the 15-16 academic year.
  2. Chair Swanik called for a member of the Committee to accept the appointment to review the proposal for the permanent status of the review of the PSM in Biotechnology.  Once the Graduate Studies Committee member is appointed, then the COCAN Committee will select the second member.  Professor Swanik will request that Dan Sullivan serve on this committee.

Respectfully submitted:
Mary Martin, Assistant Provost for Graduate and Professional Education
