Fulbright Gateway Orientation

for Fulbright Foreign Students

August 7-11, 2017

Welcome to the Fulbright Gateway Orientation at the University of Delaware! Being selected as a Fulbright student is an impressive accomplishment and we are honored to be with you as you begin your Fulbright journey. This orientation is designed as an introduction to the United States’ higher education system and culture and offers skill-building sessions to help you achieve academic and professional success now and well into the future. While at UD, you will be walking the same paths former U.S. Vice-President Joseph Biden once walked as a student and enjoy a few days in the United States’ mid-Atlantic region. Once described by Thomas Jefferson as a “jewel” among states due to its strategic location on the East Coast, Delaware is roughly half-way between New York City and Washington D.C. and Newark, Delaware (UD’s home) is known for having a relaxed and friendly atmosphere during the summer months.

Your orientation will be delivered by a wide array of faculty and staff from the University of Delaware, IIE and others. You’ll also have the opportunity to meet a number of local Fulbright alumni and enjoy short trips to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Wilmington, Delaware.
