Consortium for Sustainability Collaborative Study Abroad Program in Costa Rica

The Consortium for Sustainability Summer Program at EARTH University represents a partnership between 10 U.S. Universities (California Polytechnic State University, Colorado State University, University of Illinois, Iowa State University, Louisiana State University, Michigan State University, University of Missouri, University of Nebraska-Lincoln, North Carolina State University and University of Florida) and EARTH University that is dedicated to offering premier undergraduate instruction in sustainable agriculture and development.

Hosted at the EARTH University in San Jose, Costa Rica, the Collaborative Summer Study Abroad Program offers students the opportunity to learn in a highly interactive, hands-on format complete with field visits, and trips to destinations in and around San Jose.  The goals of the program include: 1) Creating a personal sustainability vision; 2) Understanding modern agriculture’s impact; 3) Learning best practices for sustainable development; 4) Understanding how to promote sustainable development on farms; and 5) Gaining a better understanding about Latin American Culture
