Subject: Winter and Spring 2011 Course Scheduling Advice

Greetings to all ed tech graduate students at the University of Delaware!

I am writing to provide you with course scheduling advice for the
upcoming Winter session and Spring semester of 2011. As always, you
should check with your advisor each semester to confirm that your
course selection is in line with your particular program. This course
advisory contains sections for master’s and doctoral students,
respectively.

           ===Courses for M.Ed. Students===

All M.Ed. students are required to take 3 credits of the following
courses; both are being offered in Spring 2011:

EDUC 600 Teacher as Researcher
EDUC 607 Educational Research Procedures

From the ed tech specialty, all M.Ed. students must take the following
two courses that are being offered in the Spring of 2011:

EDUC 685 Multimedia Literacy
EDUC 650 Technology and Cognition

From the ed tech specialty, all M.Ed. students must take the following
course that is being offered in the Winter of 2011:

EDUC 638 Learning Technologies Across Curricula

In the Winter of 2011, the following ed tech electives are being offered:

EDUC 639-010 Google Sites in Education
EDUC 639-011 Literacy and Technology

In the Spring of 2011, the following ed tech electives are being offered:

EDUC 621 Internet Technologies
EDUC 692 Educational Technology Capstone

           ===Courses for Ed.D. Students===

All CT&HE students are required to take EDUC 863, Program Evaluation.
This course is being offered in the Spring of 2011.

All CT&HE students are required to take EDUC 860, Curriculum Theory.
This course is being offered in Spring 2011. Also being offered is
EDUC 897, Curriculum Inquiry, which also can fulfill this requirement.
In general, students will find the EDUC 860 readings and cases
most applicable to K-12 environments, whereas the readings and
cases chosen in EDUC 897 are more applicable to higher education.

All CT&HE students are required to take EDUC 846, Data Analysis. This
course is being offered in the Spring of 2011.

All CT&HE students are required to take EDUC 818, Educational
Technology Foundations. This course is being offered in the Winter of
2011.

Last, but certainly not least, all CT&HE students are required to take
21 credits of ed tech specialty courses. In the Winter of 2011, the
following ed tech specialty courses are being offered:

EDUC 639-010 Google Sites in Education
EDUC 639-011 Literacy and Technology

During the Spring of 2011, the following ed tech specialty courses are
being offered:

EDUC 621 Internet Technologies
EDUC 650 Technology and Cognition
EDUC 685 Multimedia Literacy
EDUC 692 Educational Technology Capstone

In the meantime, I hope you will all pass your final exams and
