I'm writing to provide you with course scheduling advice for the upcoming Spring semester of 2000. As always, you should check with your advisor each semester to confirm that your course selection is in line with your particular program. This course advisory contains sections for M.Ed. Students, M.I. Students, and Ed.D. Students, respectively. ===Courses for M.Ed. Students=== All M.Ed. students are required to take 3-6 credits of the following courses, all of which are being offered in the Spring of 2000: EDUC 600 Teacher as Researcher EDUC 607 Educational Research Procedures EDUC 660 Applied Educational Measurement The following course is required of all M.Ed. students; if you haven't had it yet, Spring 2000 is a good time to take: EDUC 640 Introduction to Curriculum From the ed tech specialty, all M.Ed. students must take the following two courses that are being offered in the Spring of 2000: EDUC 685 Multimedia Literacy (also offered via FOCUS Videotape in Winter 2000) EDUC 632 Using the Internet for Curriculum Applications ===M.I. Students=== All M.I. students must take one of the following two courses, both of which are being offered in the Spring of 2000: EDUC 600 Teacher as Researcher EDUC 629 Psychology of Teaching M.I. students must take either EDUC 667 (Academic and Behavioral Assessment) or EDUC 680 (Educational Diagnosis). EDUC 680 is being offered in the Spring of 2000. All M.I. students must take one of the following two courses, both of which are being offered in the Spring of 2000: EDUC 627 Models of Instruction EDUC 640 Introduction to Curriculum All M.I. students must take the following technology courses that are being offered in the Spring of 2000: EDUC 685 Multimedia Literacy (also offered via FOCUS Videotape in Winter 2000) EDUC 632 Using the Internet for Curriculum Applications ===Ed.D. Students=== All Ed.D. students are required to take either EDUC 897, Curriculum Inquiry or EDUC 860, Curriculum: Research, Theory, and Development. Of these, the following course is being offered in the Spring of 2000: EDUC 897, Curriculum Inquiry Similarly, all Ed.D. students are required to take either EDUC 665, Elementary Statistics or EDUC 856, Introduction to Statistical Inference. Of these, the following course is being offered in the Spring of 2000: EDUC 665, Elementary Statistics All Ed.D. students must take six credits of the following group: EDUC 862, Qualitative Issues in Educational Research EDUC 812, Regression Models in Education EDUC 851, Practicum in Qualitative Methods EDUC 863, Principles of Program Evaluation EDUC 891, Management Applications of Research Of these, the following are being offered in the Spring of 2000: EDUC 862, Qualitative Issues in Educational Research EDUC 851, Practicum in Qualitative Methods EDUC 863, Principles of Program Evaluation Last, but certainly not least, all Ed.D. students are required to take 18 credits of ed tech specialty courses. The following courses are being offered in Spring 2000: EDUC 885-010 Curriculum & Technology EDUC 885-011 Advanced Web Design (Newark) EDUC 885-150 Advanced Web Design (FOCUS) EDUC 885-435 Advanced Web Design (Georgetown ITV) With the permission of the advisor, master's students may also elect one of the 800-level courses to fulfill a 600-level technology requirement, but such a course cannot be counted again in a subsequent doctoral program.
