Chin 200 Final writing assignment Due Dec 13th, 2010
Our class is hired by a Chinese touring company to write about interesting places to visit in the U.S. for their monthly newsletter. We will divide the class into several groups with 4-5 people. Each group will be responsible for one city/town/state of their choices. The final product will be submitted in the format of a poster (electronically or in paper). The following are what you need to address for each place of interest:
· The basics-where is it, what is it called, climate, population, cultural, political significance, etc
· What to do: give information on historical sites, museums, shopping districts, places for recreations and any other places worth visiting. Be sure to mention directions and other travel tips. Please write about at least four different places;
· Where to eat: highlight one or two restaurants for the local food. Comment on the restaurants’ food, services, ambience, location, price and other specialties.
· Other: any other things that you think are special about this place.
Your poster will be evaluated based on the content, organization, presentation as well as grammatical accuracy. The following rubric is attached for your reference:
