Uploading Your Files to Make Them World Readable

(Publishing)

To upload your files to Copland after you have created them:
  1. Start Windows.
  2. Start WS-FTP from the START menu by choosing PROGRAMS, then INTERNET, and then FTPSelect Menus
  3. If Copland is not listed under the PROFILE NAME, choose the down arrow and select COPLAND.
  4. If Copland does not show up on the list, select NEW, and then:
  5. In the User ID box, type your UNIX username.
  6. In the Password box, type your UNIX password.
  7. Click OK.
  8. You now have two windows open in WFTP. The left-hand window lists a directory on your PC and the files in it; the right-hand window should list your files on Copland. If it does not, click the Refresh button.
  9. Double click on "public_html" in the right-hand window. This will put you in your public_html directory.
  10. In the left-hand local files window, select the text file(s) you'd like to transfer. For more than one file, hold the CTRL key as you click on each file name. When all the relevant html files have been selected, click the button in the middle of the WS-FTP window.
  11. If you have GIF files or other binary files (.wav files, for example), repeat the step above, selecting all binary files and clicking on the Binary button before you click on the button.
  12. Close WS-FTP by clicking the button on the bottom left and then EXITing the program.
