Creating Student Web Pages on the University of Delaware's Web Server: Uploading Your Files Using PC/TCP's WFTP

After creating your files, upload them to Copland
  1. Start Windows.
  2. Start WFTP by double-clicking the WFTP icon.
  3. If Copland comes up on the Sessions Available list, select Copland and press ENTER.
  4. If Copland does not show up on the Sessions Available list, press ESC, open the Sessions menu, and select New. In the Host name section, type
    copland.udel.edu
    Press ENTER.
  5. In the Username dialog box, type your UNIX username and press ENTER.
  6. In the Password dialog box, type your UNIX password and press ENTER.
  7. If you get error messages, just click OK and ignore them. You now have two windows open in WFTP. The left-hand window lists a directory on your PC and the files in it; the right-hand window should list your files on Copland. If it does not, click the Refresh button.
  8. Double click on "public_html" in the right-hand window. This will put you in your public_html directory.
  9. In the left-hand local files window, select the text file(s) you'd like to transfer. For more than one file, hold the CTRL key as you click on each file name. When all the relevant html files have been selected, click the Copy button in the middle of the WFTP window. In the Copy local files box, click Yes to All.
  10. If you have GIF files or other binary files (.wav files, for example), repeat the step above, selecting all binary files and clicking on the Binary button before you click on the Copy button.
  11. Close WFTP by opening the Session menu and selecting Exit.
