Requirements:

    (20% of grade)
    The course is a compendium of mostly hands-on activities, exploring the different skills needed to become competent and literate in the use of the Internet.  Many of the tasks will require that you work in small groups and
    help each other to further your skills in cooperative learning and peer tutoring within this new technology.

    (80% of grade)
    There are three written components of your grade in Introduction to the Internet.

      (40%)
      1. Written Exercises from text (Internet Literacy  by Fred Hofstetter): <

These will be due in a portfolio on the last day of the session.

Course Format:

Because the Internet is changing so rapidly, this course will be based on organized exploration and sharing. In general each day will be structured as follows: Since one objective of the class is for all participants to return to their schools ready to help others use the Internet effectively, each participant should take an active role in helping other class members to use the tools effectively and find new resources.
