Memorial scholarship fund honors ELI graduate

A scholarship fund in honor of an outstanding ELI graduate who died last January has been established at ELI. The Andres de Zubiria Duque Memorial Scholarship Fund, explained ELI Director Dr. Scott Stevens, will award a full tuition scholarship yearly to a student "who emulates the spirit of academic excellence and dedication that Andres embodied and who shows potential for building upon Andres' efforts to foster greater understanding among individuals from other cultures and nations."

While at ELI in 1996, Andres took advanced level courses in the business and academic tracks. He is survived by his family in Colombia and by his wife, Silvia Isabel Escobar Uribe, also an ELI graduate.
