As usual, I hope you all had an excellent 1996! I traveled alone to San Francisco last year and with John and Julie to Paris, where my sister now lives. Here in Newark we are as busy as ever, and I hope you are, too.

Yes, it's me. Don't let the name change fool you. I am settling into my new life and am very, very happy. I got to see my new nephew for the first time this summer. He looks just like the Gerber baby (here's an idiom to develop your vocabulary!), with big blue eyes, a curl at the top of his head, and a beautiful smile. My grandmother is doing very well. Happy holidays to you all. I miss each and every one of you.
--Jo Gielow (formerly Jo Rayyan)
