Alicia Soto Moreno (Mexico, '95) and Yutaka Kusumoto (Japan, '96) are engaged. The wedding is planned for April 5, 1997 in Mexico City.

Ali Hassan (Kuwait, '92) was featured in a TV spot at the summer Olympics. He made the preliminaries in diving, and NBC called him "the nicest diver."

Amadou Bouraima (Togo, '85) writes that after receiving a master's degree in England, he began teaching English back home in Lome. He now teaches at the Village du Benin and at his own Center for Language Studies and Translation. He remembers ELI fondly and would like to hear from former classmates.

Beum Heo (Korea, '96) is working as an accountant for a financial company in Seoul and will marry next May.

Bjorn Tibell (Sweden) and Claude Marchetti (France), dynamic duo from the summer of '94, vacationed in Newark this summer, at different times. Bjorn had been to Hawaii and San Francisco and was looking forward to joining the army in November. Claude stayed with the Bulkowskis and was planning on buying a house in the Paris suburbs.

Carla Souza Pinto (Brazil, '95) wed Luiz Enrico Goncalves on October 4. The couple traveled to Europe for their honeymoon.

Chang-Won (Charlie) Joung (Korea, '95 ) is now a producer for MBN (MaeKyung Business News) a cable channel specializing in economic issues. He writes that ELI grads are meeting together often in Seoul. Several of his ELI classmates have gotten married there: Sang-Hi Kim and Dong-Won Kwon got hitched in 1995; Nobuhiro Mazawa and Hiromi Shiba (Japan) were among ELI students who attended their wedding. Also wed in 1996 were Jae-Sung Lee and Ha-Sung Kim, and Jun-Hee Lee and Su-Mi Hwang. ELI friends who attended the ceremonies remarked that ELI is becoming "a kind of matchmaker!"

Chieko Kawamoto (Japan, '95) is a floor supervisor for Gap Kids in Yokohama.

Christian Halm (Germany, '95) did an internship for the DuPont company in Parkersberg, West Virginia, this past fall.

Hyun Ji Lee (Korea, '95) will soon graduate from Taegu University; she is also teaching English in a private institute in Taegu.

Fazidah Fariyah Md Ali (Malaysia, '83) is now married with two children. She is working as a sales manager for the Apple Computer distributor in Kuala Lumpur.

Juno Lo (Hong Kong, '95) is working as a financial reporter for the Oriental Daily News in Hong Kong and was recently visited by fellow ELI classmate Jung-Hye Kim (Korea).

Luis Garma (Spain, '94) is working in Madrid for a multinational corporation and is doing lots of traveling for his job.

Makiko Miki (Japan, '93) is working for an electric power company in Kobe. She is taking Spanish and English classes and recently spent two weeks in Spain.

Makoto Fujibashi (Japan, '96) found a job teaching English and Mathematics to junior high students at a private school in Japan.

Mehmet Sukru Gulay (Turkey, '95) is a graduate student in the Animal Science Department at the University of Florida.

Roberto Gonzales (Mexico, '94) was married to Alexandria Geracoulis in Boston in October. The couple will live in Amherst, Massachusetts.

Sayuri Fukutake (Japan, '96) is teaching English to adults at a company in Japan.

Takeshi Odagiri (Japan, '94) returned to the U.S. to enter Cecil County Community College, continuing to visit his fans at ELI to discuss the Orioles' progress.

Yorie Ikeda (Japan, '95) is working as an English teacher in Hiroshima City.

Yuki Bito, (Japan, '94) is completing her B.A. in sociology at the University of Delaware.
