With a new facade mirroring Gore Hall, which it faces on The Green, Du Pont Hall's expansion fills the last building site on The Green, fulfulling the concept of the original 1917 plan. A gift from the Longwood Foundation partially funded the project as did a similar gift more than 40 years ago during original construction.

On September 22, 2002, the reconstructed Du Pont Hall was dedicated.
