Getting to Newark

For travel by air, the closest airport to Newark is Philadelphia (PHL) although Baltimore (BWI) is not much further away. Airport shuttle service is available from PHL via Delaware Express (www.delexpress.com).

Train service is available to Newark from Washington D.C. and the Northeast corridor via Amtrak, although hours are somewhat limited; there is greater schedule flexibility to Wilmington, DE, which is about 30 minutes from Newark. For train information, visit http://www.amtrak.com/home

There are also various bus services that run between Newark and nearby cities—information on those can be found here: http://www.udel.edu/transportation/faq.html. If driving, you can find driving directions to the university at http://www.udel.edu/visitus/?panel=2.

Driving Directions

From either north or south, take I-95 to Exit 1 (Newark/Rte. 896) in Delaware. Turn onto 896 N.; this road becomes S. College Ave. and proceeds through campus. (Do not follow signs directing 896 N. traffic to detour left.) Follow S. College to Main St., which is a "T" intersection where all traffic must turn left. Turn left onto W. Main St., staying in the right lane. Proceed 2 short blocks and bear right onto New London Rd./896 N. The main entrance to Clayton Hall Conference Center is about 1/2 mile ahead, on the right and well marked.
