Saving a Premiere
QuickTime Movie

First thing to do is prepare a movie to be made into a QuickTime movie. You can use anything from a movie or animation constructed in a movie editor like Premiere or Video WorkShop or frames grabbed straight from a video source with no editing. See the Video and Sound Pages on how to capture from tape.

This movie was constructed from the stills that were made for the Animated GIF Information Pages. They consisted of 20, 288 pixels-wide x 108 pixels-high indexed colored, 72 dpi GIF images. I also added a sound file that came with one of our software packages.

  1. The images were placed into Premiere one at a time
  2. Each image was assigned a space of time. Once the movie was completed, it was time to save it in it's final format.
    We have a few options to choose from.
  3. Since this page is about making a QuickTime movie for the Web,
    I used theExport --> Flattened Movie.
  4. Name your QT movie.
    NOTE: Be sure to leave or add the .MOV extension. The final file is 875k.

    OR

  5. Export --> Movie Segment.
    Name your QT movie.
    NOTE: Be sure to leave or add the .MOV extension. The final file is 875k.

Either option works fine.
