This talk will describe the life and work of Joseph Priestley, a monumental figure in 18th century science, religion, and political thought. The presentation consists of four parts: (a)
A summative view of Priestley’s life and work;
(b) Priestley-- The person and his views on education; (c) Priestley--The scientist; and (d) Priestley-- Remembrances by contemporaries. Priestley’s work both in England and in the USA will be discussed. |
