Description
Overview of our current understanding of
the role of metal ions in the structure and function of proteins, enzymes and
nucleic acids. Emphasis will be placed on the synergism between
biochemical and synthetic model studies with examples provided by the current
literature. Students will be
exposed to contemporary topics at the interface of biochemistry, inorganic chemistry
and biophysics.
