Organic Chemistry at UD spans bioorganic, synthetic organic, organometallic and materials chemistry. 

In addition to research focusing on the development of new synthetic methodologies and strategies, our program focuses on new applications of organic chemistry across disciplines.  These include the development of biomolecular probes, drug candidate development, new materials and the chemical biology of  a range of complex cellular systems. Our innovative faculty and students push the frontiers of chemistry both through independent research projects and collaborations that cross the globe. The impact of our research is seen in the success of our graduates, the quality of our publications, and numerous awards to both faculty and students.
