The “Glass Shop” fabricates, modifies and repairs scientific apparatus / instruments. Services are made available to all departments on campus. Consultation is also available on design, function and safety. A technical and material library is maintained to assist in locating needed information, products and parts. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm.

Glass
A hard, brittle and non-crystalline material typically formed from the rapid cooling
of liquefied
minerals. Most glasses start from a molten mixture of soda ash, sand, and lime.
Other elements may be added to form specific glass types.
