The Views of Organized Protest Groups

As one might think, there are several groups as well as individuals who are against the use and proliferation of chemical and biological weapons.  This page will look into the organized groups whose mission is to protest the use of these weapons.

The Henry L. Stimson Center

The Henry L. Stimson Center, located in Washington, D.C., is a nonprofit public organization, dedicated to creating solutions for the national and international  security problems that plagues this country as well as the rest of the world.  One of these problems is the proliferation of chemical and biological weapons.  A detailed link to the Stimson Center's chemical and biological weapons effort can be found here.

The Center for Nonproliferation Studies

Provided by the Monterey Institute for International Studies in Monterey, California, the CNS is " the world's largest non-governmental organization devoted to combating the spread of weapons of mass destruction."  Here is a direct link to the CNS's chemical and biological resource page, on which many topics regarding chemical and biological warfare are discussed.

The Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons

The OPCW is an organization based solely on the Chemical Weapons Convention, signed in 1993, which globally prohibited the use and possession of chemical and biological weapons.  The OPCW is perhaps the most comprehensive web site on the topic of the CWC and provides many good resources for its visitors.

Other protest organizations include:

The Biological and Toxin Weapons Verification Program:  a working program of the Federation of American Scientists.
