With world energy demands increasing and fossil fuel reserves, the main source of the world's energy, being depleted, many believe that nuclear power will be the only viable source of energy in future years. While there exist many alternate sources to both nuclear power and fossil fuels, it is unclear whether these sources will be able to meet growing energy demands.
It is clear that the worldwide dependence on fossil fuels as the primary source of energy will come to an end all to soon and at the present time nuclear power is the most likely energy source to take its place. However, it is our feeling that to say that nuclear power will be the ONLY viable source of power in the future is quite misguided as there exist almost unlimited alternatives, many of which are already in use throughout the world. It is certain to us that with further research into present energy alternatives and with the continuous development of new energy sources previously of which undreamed, there will be a multitude of choices for our source or sources of energy in the future.
In this presentation we will introduce the current and future world energy market and examine today's major energy industries. We will present the major energy technologies under investigation that could become viable and attractive options in the next several years.
