In addition to stunt & tumble skills, cheerleaders will be evaluated on personality, professionalism & communication skills. All tryout sessions are mandatory. The individual who is trying out for the team should be making any and all correspondence with the coaching staff.

Please communicate any extenuating circumstances well in advance of tryouts. The coaches will let you know your options but based on the high volume of candidates expected it is highly recommended you attend the tryout.

Please avoid parking in any University spots without a permit to avoid receiving a ticket. We recommend parking in the Trabant Parking Garage, the pay to park lot behind Grotto Pizza off of Main Street or E. Delaware, or any metered parking.

Summer Practice Dates (Mandatory)

All UD Cheerleaders are required to attend mandatory summer practices, please mark the following dates on your calendar:

June 27-July 1 & August 7-13. Return for Fall Semester week of Monday, August 21

Summer Expectations

If you are close to campus during the summer, there will be open gyms throughout the week that you are encouraged to attend. If not, you will be expected to work out on your own to maintain and improve on the skills you demonstrated at tryouts. Team placements are not permanent and we reserve the right to move or remove any cheerleader who does not maintain their skills.
