Audio Visual Inferencing

This is a highly interactive kindergarten English Language Arts unit that focuses on the skills of inferencing and listening comprehension. The use of movies in this unit will make the lessons engaging and highly relevant to the students. Students will be encouraged to comment on video clips, images, and soundtracks from an assortment of films. Through these media, students will make inferences about characters and plot, draw conclusions, and make predictions. This unit will aid in the teaching of common core state standards relating to reading literature and speaking and listening. This unit will probably take between one and two weeks.
